Indonesia 1938 – a family film
Gepubliceerd op 14 okt 2013 door Marge Verschuyl
In 1938, Johannes Ferdindand Verschuyl (Flip) made this videos of his family & friends. This captures the life of Dutch/Indos at a time when Indonesia was referred to as the Dutch East Indies.
This captures a life before WW II. Images show a parade that celebrates the birth of then Princess Beatrix of the Netherdlands, a man celebrating the victory that his ram had over another, the arrival of a substation on the Oranje and its subsequent transportation over the road.
Hopefully, family can help fill in the names of friends and work colleagues so that their families can enjoy this video as well.
Known people within this video (in no particular order): Maria Doeve (Oma) Ron Verschuyl Wilhelm G. Verschuyl Ferdinand Verschuyl Loes Bogard, her baby & husband Johan Damstee Sietska Jongeblood Thomas Oostveen Max van Weldman Mr. van Leeuwen & family touring the Oranje
