The lost tribes
Zo noem ik de Indische tribes die zich afgescheiden hebben van de hoofdtribe die in Nederland terechtkwam Een beetje raar om de Indonesische tribe, die in Indonesi bleef, ‘lost’ te noemen? Zij zijn nooit weggeweest.
Maar goed…. ik bekijk het vanuit de Nederlandse tribe.
Een van de grootste lost tribes is de Amerikaanse stam. (foto van Amerikagangers onderweg) Dankzij internet kunnen de tribes elkaar weer terugvinden.
Geen dure telefoontjes naar oom Piet in L.A. Geen brieven die 3 weken later pas aankomen.. Direct…. in real time… kun je op internet omongkosongen met de lost tribe Amerika. Leuk te zien dat ook in Amerika er indofora ontstaan.
Het moet wel in Engels, want de meesten onder de 60 jaar kennen geen of te weinig Nederlands.
Een nieuw forum is the Dutch Indonesian Community, die gratis ruimte heeft op Facebook. Het nadeel is dat je geregistreerd en ingelogd moet zijn op Facebook. Klik hier voor het gedeelte ‘discussions’ van the Dutch Indonesian Community.
De linken werken dus niet als je niet bent ingelogd met een eigen account.
Toevallig begint dit topic ‘uh-uh’ met veel Nederlands
Persoon1: Can anyone imitate that sort of non-gutteral sound all Dutch Indonesians can make, particularly the women of uh-uh? Anyone recognise this sound? It could even be compared to a sound which some type of bird would make when calling. The sould is not blatent, but it is subtle. It is usually given as an affirmation.
Persoon2: Oh, yeah…………..I can make that sound. Your mouth is almost closed when you make that sound..and you shake your head up and down a bit. How ‘bout: Aduh, sudah, laat maar”………….I love that one…LOL….
Persoon1: Dat zijn nou de dingen die typisch Indisch zijn. Natuurrlijk spreken niet alle Indische mensen op die manier, maar tegelijkertijd loop ik niet daar voor weg… Those are “things”, which are typically Indischs. Of course, not all Indischs people speak that way. But at the sametime, I do not “hide it”.
Persoon 3: haha zo praat ik ook als ik onder Indische mensen ben, maar soms vliegt er ook uit als ik ook onder Engelstalige ben . komt zeker door te vaak bij m’n oma zitten haha

Ja wel grappig, persoon 1 ben ik. Als ik op deze kleinste manier alle Indos ter wereld bij mekaar kan brengen, dan begin ik met deze bijdrage…

Zoals gezegd: het nadeel is dat je geregistreerd en ingelogd moet zijn op Facebook en/of op Hyves. Dat is overigens gratis en dat is ook niet geheel onbelangrijk voor een in Nederland geassimileerde Indo toch?
Ik hoop dat jullie er wat aan hebben.
Vooral voor ouderen is dat gedoe met inloggen en account openen een verschrikking.
Toen ik voor het eerst op hyves een posting wilde doen in een forum was het voor mij ook een martelgang.
Ik had geen ervaring met hyves …
Ik heb nu vlot een facebookaccount kunnen maken… maar vraag me niet hoe dat kreng werkt verder…
MY question is:Why is it that the “INDO COMMUNITY,” called them selfs,”DUTCH-INDONESIAN.” What is wrong with,”INDISHE NEDERLANDER.”is that not more apropiate,than
“DUTCH-INDONESIAN.”
After all,we were not in the “INDONESIAN REGISTER.” BUT rather in the “EUROPEAN REGISTER.”
I think the real term that apply to us is,
“INDO KESASAR”
And don’t tell me that the “WORD INDO,”means
“IN HOLLAND DOOR OMSTANDIG HEDEN.”
We had a choice to sta or leaf.wedid not like it ha because we would have to take the INDONESIAN citizen ship,but with that it would have been appropiate for us to be called,”DUTCH INDONESIAN”or “INDONESIAN-DUTCH.”
but I like it better,”INDO KESASAR.”
